Here is how you can make breastfeeding a joy for your self and your newborn
Breastfeeding your baby benefits you and your baby in many ways. So why not make it a joy and enjoy while you reap the benefits. Small changes made to our routine and surroundings will make a huge difference and make nursing your little one a joy and also make your baby more comfortable.
Benefits of breastfeeding for you are;
Breastfeeding burns calories and helps you lose pregnancy weight quicker. It releases the hormone oxytocin, which helps your uterus return to its pre-pregnancy size and may reduce uterine bleeding after birth. Breastfeeding also lowers your risk of breast and ovarian cancer.
For the baby:
Breast milk is especially beneficial as it may reduce your baby's risk of many illnesses and diseases. It strengthens the immune system and provides all nutrients essential for the development of the body and brain
Breastfeeding most importantly forms that special bond between you and your baby that stays forever.
While some moms are perfectly content to stare blissfully into their baby’s eyes while feeding, other moms find they want something else to do while they’re nursing to keep them engaged. If that sounds like you, grab your phone, tablet or a good book before sitting down. Or, position your super comfy chair in front of the TV so you can catch up on all those Netflix series you have been dying to watch.
Do address cracked or sore nipples by keeping a nipple cream such as Lanolin handy. Also, nipple shields are a good way to prevent soreness in the nipples
It is a great idea to have a dedicated space and lay it out specially and comfortably for feeding your baby. This helps create that special bond and a peaceful atmosphere.having all essentials handy and being comfortable with private space goes a long way in making breastfeeding your little one a joy!

Do invest in a good feeding pillow. It is comfortable for the baby and props up the position to avoid strain and deformation of the neck.
A pretty breastfeeding basket or a mother bag is a must!
